Finally, the most awaited Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has been introduced on Wednesday at IIFA 2014 in Berlin. The South Korean tech giant has introduced the 4th-generation Galaxy Note in two variants, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note 4 Edge. The Galaxy Note 4 comes with Performance Improvements, premium looks, and a new metallic finish.
The design of the new Galaxy Note 4 : – The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 comes with a new design with an aluminum frame on the sides, elegantly curved corners, soft-textured back cover that gives good grip, and premium metal frame that blends seamlessly in the display. The front has a 2.5D glass profile. It has the similar design as the Samsung Galaxy Alpha, which was launched recently. In terms of the looks, the Galaxy Note 4 is a new sibling of the Note 3. Bad news for Note fans, the chassis of the phablet is not dustproof and water-resistant.
The Galaxy Note 4 phablet feature a replaceable back cover that allows you to choose color from color options. The phablet will be available in four color variants – bronze gold, blossom pink, frosted white and charcoal black. It would also be available in blue color variant. Measures of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 are 153.5 x 78.6 x 8.5mm and weighs in at just 176 grams.
S-Pen in Samsung Galaxy Note 4 : – The phablet also comes with the detachable S-Pen with high level of pressure sensitivity and has both rubber tip suitable for multimedia and gaming related usage and the plastic tip for writing. It also comes with the S Pen stylus and can be used from both angles. The S-Pen can also be used as a computer mouse to select text and drag the pictures in the gallery. It comes with a new Smart Select feature allows you to copy any website’s certain portions by using the stylus and store it on cloud storage to read them later. The S-Pen comes with support for S Note and Muli-Window.
Galaxy Note 4 Specifications
Samsung latest flagship phablet, the Galaxy S4 features a 5.7-inch QHD 1440 X 2560 pixels Super AMOLED display giving it a pixel density of 515ppi and the display is protected by a scratch resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It comes pre-loaded with the Android v4.4.4 KitKit OS skinned with the latest version of the TouchWiz UI.
It has a fingerprint scanner with expanded functionality, private mode authentication, PayPal and Samsung account verification, and comes with fingerprint shortcuts allows users to web sign-in and assign functions or apps via a registered fingerprint by using the fingerprint sensor. The phablet also has the heart-rate moniter similar to the Galaxy S5. It comes in two variants – SM-N910S and SM-N910C.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910S is powered by a Snapdragon 805 quad-core Krait 450 processor clocked at 2.7GHz, Adeno 420 GPU and 3GB of RAM and offers LTE Cat.6 (up-to 300Mbps) connectivity. It will come in 32GB built in storage option with MicroSD card slot support up-to 64GB.
While the Galaxy Note SM-N910C variant is powered by an octa-core Exynox processor with the Cortex-A57’s four cores clocked at 1.9GHz and 1.3GHz individually, Mali-T760 GPU along with 3GB of RAM and support LTE Cat.4 (up-to 150Mbps).
Galaxy Note 4’s Camera
The latest 4th-Ggeneration Galaxy Note sports a 16MP Sony IMX 240 camera sensor on the rear with OIS (optical image stabilization) technology. The rear camera is equipped with a single LED flash and is capable of capturing video in 2160p 4K UHD @ 30fps. Camera modes include are dual-shot, touch-focus, face and smile detection, simultaneous HD video and image recording, image stabilization, geo-tagging, HDR and Panorama.
The front of the smartphone has a 3.7-megapixel camera with f/1.9 aperture and is designed to take good selfie. The front-facing camera is capable of shooting video in 1080p. The camera can take selfies with an angle of 90 degrees, and the Wide Selfie feature allows users to snap selfies with a angle of up-to 120 degrees.
Battery and Connectivity
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is fueled by a 3, 220 mAh battery, which claimed to provide battery life up-to 24 hours without any hassle. Users can also add Qi wireless charging panel (optional). The connectivity features of the device included are 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (dual band), WiFi hotspot, WiFi Direct, DLNA, A-GPS with GLOSNASS, USB 3.0 ports, and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity.
Availability and Pricing
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is expected to available in the first week of October. The company has not revealed the pricing details of the phablet, but we can expect that the phablet will come with an off – contract price of $600 and on-contact is expected to be around $300. It will be available on major carriers in the US – AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint and US Cellular.
